Agriculture in the Northeast

Farming in the Northeast United States, while significantly less prevalent in the past few decades, makes a  significant contribution to the socioeconomic welfare of the NE states.  That being said, those who work on the farm face considerable dangers each and every day: animal handling, tractor rollovers, machinery entanglements, and pesticide exposures are only a few such hazards that farmers encounter on a daily basis. All of these factors highlight the need for improved farming safety and serve as a major focus of the Northeast Center 's  research , outreach and occupational clinical efforts.
